Circular 1/2026

Dear Parents,

I extend a warm welcome to our Felixton College family as we begin a new school year. I trust that you had a restful and refreshing break and that you return with a sense of anticipation for the year ahead. We certainly have a bumper year ahead in terms of milestones and exciting developments.

I am pleased to confirm that the school has settled smoothly into its routines. All academic timetables are fully operational, and our sport and cultural programmes are now under way.

Staff and pupils
have embraced the start of the year with enthusiasm and purpose, and the school environment is once again alive with learning and activity.

A few points of interest:
The work at Izingwe has resumed. There has been lots of rain and this has impeded progress to a degree. No date changes have been considered as yet, so we are still working towards a 23 April finish and hand over. Updates will be more frequent, via Circulars from my desk and through social media posts, as the project gains traction.

An exciting piece of breaking news is that East Coast Radio will be broadcasting their morning show (06h00 – 09h00) from our campus on Friday 30 January. More detail will follow once we have pegged down a programme of events for the morning with ECR.

Our excellent Grade 12 results have been published on social media, as well as in the Zululand Observer.

For those who may not have seen the Grade 12 IEB NSC results for 2025:

  • Number of Grade 12s 37 Number of distinctions 85
  • Bachelor Degree Pass 36 Top 1% in subject (national) 3
  • Diploma Pass 1 21 of 37 Grades 12s aggregates ≥70%

TOP ACHIEVERS

  1. Ibrahim Joosub 7 distinctions 90% aggregate
  2. Alexa Wood 7 distinctions 86% aggregate
  3. Karla Kachelhoffer 6 distinctions 85% aggregate
  4. Lwandile Zulu 5 distinctions 84% aggregate
  5. Jordan Schnell 5 distinctions 82% aggregate

We enjoyed an excellent strategic planning session on Saturday 17 January in which we reviewed the previous strategic plan, addressed data from the recent parent, pupil, and staff survey conducted towards the end of last year, and reflected on the College Mission Statement. Feedback to parents will follow and the Masterplan for future development of the school with regard to buildings will be published for perusal.

We look forward to working closely with you in the months ahead as we partner in the education and development of your children.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our school community.

Kind regards
Mr Wayne Rademan
Headmaster
