Circular 04/2026

We have launched into Term 2 with a first week full of excitement, cheer, birthdays, academics, sport, and culture.

This week will be even busier as we host South City for fixtures in the Junior School and High School, and enjoy our first full Junior School derby fixture against Richards Bay Primary School.

I look forward to watching our pupils in the various sport codes, as well as the general chat and banter with parents on the sides of the fields. Please feel free to engage with me, regarding the latest progress and developments at Izingwe – it does make for exciting and interesting conversation.

Izingwe sports complex update

Significant progress has been made on the development of the Izingwe Sports Complex. The polishing of the Astro surface has been successfully completed, while the installation of kerbs and fencing is nearing completion. The project will now proceed to its next phase, which includes the application of a bitumen seal, the installation of a shock-absorbing layer, and the final placement of the Dry Innovation playing surface. In addition, further engagement has taken place with the appointed architect to advance planning around key infrastructure components,
including the main entrance, internal roadways, clubhouse facilities, and ablution amenities.

Unfortunately, the date of completion is now extended to the end of May, owing to the extensive earthworks that were initially required to provide the platform for the astroturf.

Attached, please find a basic masterplan of the developments at Izingwe. The masterplan is cast as a blueprint for present and future development at Izingwe. It will also be placed on

Ed-Admin.

It is incredibly exciting to see the map of our quest to develop a multi-sport complex that is both functional and a source of great pride for the College.

Reminder of Felixton College 30th anniversary planning and celebrations
The intention is to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of Felixton College over the course of the year, holding at least one formalised gathering in each of the four terms.

  • Term 1 Friday 13 March In-House = School (Pupils + Staff)-centred
  • Term 2 Saturday 20 June Big Red Picnic (Felixton family, past and present)
  • Term 3 Saturday 19 September Banquet
  • Term 4 Date TBC 100 Club

Other major events … which will also have a 30th year celebration flavour

  • Astroturf opening ceremony.
  • Founders Day / Reunion and opening of time capsule (buried in 2006).

On a logistical note, we do apologise for the extensive travelling to fixtures this term, particularly those that involve driving on a Friday evening on the N3 and N2. We are doing our best to secure venues (schools with astroturf facilities) as close to home as possible.

Safety is our priority and we are doing our best to mitigate the travelling, while servicing fixtures to meet commitments with other schools, as well as providing opportunities for our pupils to enjoy a full Winter sports season.

The next Circular from my desk will include an update on further progress at Izingwe and provide some feedback from the OISESA site visit, surveys, and focus areas which we have identified for the rest of the term.

Kind regards
Wayne Rademan
