A MESSAGE FROM COLLEGE HEADMASTER, MR. WAYNE RADEMAN
The Felixton College Council, Management and staff have cause to celebrate as their
matric class of 2022 has once again produced outstanding IEB (Independent Examinations Board) National Senior Certificate results. The matric class - comprising 39 pupils - achieved a 100% pass rate, and 58 distinctions in total. The concerted effort made by the matrics, their teachers and their parents means that 97% will have access to tertiary studies.

Special mention must be made of Abigail Rottcher who brought home no less than seven distinctions, achieved an average of 90%, and was placed in the top 1 % nationally for Life Orientation.

Diligence and determination
Class size, coupled with outstanding one-on-one teaching and parental support, has led to the results which are cause for celebration when one takes into consideration that this group was most affected by the pandemic during their important Grade 10 and 11 years. Those grades are fundamentally important to success in matric, and these young men and women as well as their teachers have had to exercise diligence to maintain their drive, while producing consistently impressive results term after term.
Our top candidates this year are:
- Abigail Rottcher (7 distinctions)
- Leame Beukes (5 distinctions)
- Leon Kaffka (5 distinctions)
- Luthando Kimmy Kunene (4 distinctions)
- Alister Reddy (4 distinctions)
- Rawson Smit (4 distinctions)

Wings to fly
Felixton College takes pride in providing a solid foundation which creates a landscape that not only promotes academic excellence, but also takes pride in important attributes such as empathy, resilience, perseverance, appreciation and respect, amongst others. These are instilled in pupils throughout their Felixton College careers (which may begin as early as Grade RRRR) right through to matric. This holistic point of view means we can proudly send Felixtonians into society knowing that they are respectful, aware, well-rounded citizens who are able to think critically, and to engage with conviction and integrity as they venture into adulthood. We salute them now, as they head into their exciting tertiary studies, and take this opportunity to congratulate them on behalf of the entire staff body, who have put so much time and love into each and every one of them, ensuring they reached their full potential. There is no doubt that they will contribute to our dynamic society, and continue to be ambassadors of their school, Felixton College.
Kind Regards
Wayne Rademan
