In 2009, 18 Felixton cricketers were selected to represent Northern Cloastal and 7 to represent KZN, making us the most widely represented Zululand school at this level in spite of being one of the smallest.

In October 2009 in the final round of AMESA, the prestigious national benchmarking test for higher-order mathematics in primary schools, Felixton won the only gold and the only 5 silver medals in Zululand.

On 12 September 2009, in the Weber cup, a Grade 9 boy from Felixton scored 59 against the Empangeni senior mens bowling attack. A week previously he had taken 7 wickets in the same competition. In 2008, our 1st XI cricketers had an unbeaten run of 23 matches – an almost impossible record in such an unpredictable game.

A Grade 7 child scored 31 goals in a single season for Felixton's Junior First Hockey team, a very young side which played creative hockey and completed a spectacular season.

In girls hockey, our well-acclaimed junior high school “dream team” will peak as a First XI in 2013.

Felixton has come second for 3 years running at the KICCSSA athletics tournament held at King's Park, after being placed fifth in 2006. The gap between us and first place narrowed further this year to a mere 130 points.

This year, for the first time in our history, Felixton has a 2nd XV rugby team. It is a full squad with reserves and had a very good season with a number of significant wins.

Our 1st XV rugby team had a more successful season than ever before.

Felixton has experienced a dramatic improvement in its Matric results in the last 3 years, with 29 distinctions from 33 candidates last year. The upward trend is set to continue, based on current results.

Felixton teachers are very involved in the IEB, both in subject user-groups and in Matric assessment. In the Primary School our innovation is also well known, ranging from outstanding introduction of the basics of reading, writing and numeracy at Foundation Phase level through to timetable free days and extension lessons in the Senior Primary years.

In spite of our short history, Felixton College is extremely proud of the tradition and loyaltythat are so evident in our parents, learners and staff. This is very apparent in the very tangible growth in school spirit.

As a young school, we still have a lot to learn, to develop and to improve. Yet visitors to the college often complement our learners on their friendliness and manners. We often receive rave reports when class tours and sports teams visit other schools and education centers.

Every Grade 4 – 7 child participated, in some way, in the production of “Sleeping Beauty”, which had rave reviews from our own parents and from visitors, mainly because of the quality of the singing and some of the individual performances.

One of our High School girls was selected for the KZN Youth Choir, which won two gold medals and was rated the most popular choir at an international competition in Segehzzi, Italy.

One of our High School boys is due to perform on the main stage at the Zululand expo. As a white boy with a powerful voice who sings in Zulu, he has already become well known country wide (through SA's Got Talent and other competitions).

The Izingwe Sports Academy, hosted by Felixton College, is actively involved in rural hockey development and a similar cricket programme will be added in the near future.

Felixton College hosts the Northern Coastal team in the Interprovincial Maths Olympiad. In the recent IPMO, the Northern Coastal team (a team of 10 consisting of 8 from Felixton) came third in the province, beating the Midlands A team.

Felixton College is very proud of its diversity regarding gender, race, religion and culture. We celebrate this diversity in our Arts Festivals and on appropriate public holidays. Diversity is our strength.

Felixton College has an inclusive policy regarding disabilities and learning difficulties. Inclusion is an alternative approach to remedial education which changes the system, rather than removing and changing the child. Its advantages over specialised institutions and teachers are well recognised in most developed countries and Inclusion is now the official policy of the United Nations, as well as the SA Government.

Our IT network has now been extended to the Primary School classrooms and Nottingham House. PC's are presently being installed in those buildings, which will allow the installation of a smartboard-equivalent data projector in all Primary School classrooms. Felixton College is one of the first schools in the country to develop a linux thin-client network. This network will provide internet functionality to primary school classrooms.

Our internet connection has just been upgraded to an uncapped 1Mb dedicated line, which feeds in to a linux proxy server and content filter.

The English Olympiad and the Maths Olympiad are the 2 oldest and best recognised national benchmarking competitions for high school academics.

The De Beers English Olymiad test creativity and higher-order intellectual ability. A Felixton learner was placed 3rd in SA in this prestigious competition this year. No other school in Zululand appeared in the top 100.

The Harmony Gold Maths Olympiad had about 60000 entrants this year, with every good school in the country entering a large number of candidates. Of the top 50 senior mathematicians in KZN, 5 are from Felixton, making us the 2nd best Maths school in the province. The next best school only has 3 candidates in the top 50. No other school in Zululand appears in the provincial top 100 of the senior competition.

The soil has been turned for ablutions and other facilities on our wonderful new sports fields.
