U11 CRICKET TOUR TO KLERKSDORP AND PRETORIA
30 SEPTEMBER – 5 OCTOBER 2009
We left bright and early on Wednesday 30 September on a looooooong journey to Klerksdorp. After a 10 and a half hour drive, we arrived to a very warn welcome from Mr. Shawn Thomson. We stayed in the boarding facility at St. Conrad’s on the Wednesday and Thursday and were treated to a braai at the school on Wednesday night.

On Saturday we played against another undefeated side, Laerskool Hennopspark, who were playing their 15th match of their season.
MATCH SUMMARY
vs Hennopspark Laerskool
Felixton College 57 all out. Hennopspark Laerskool 171 all out.
On Saturday and Sunday nights we stayed at the Altelekker Youth Camp in Pretoria. The boys enjoyed the wide open spaces and obstacle course in particular. On Sunday we went to Centurion Park to watch Australia train for their Champions Trophy final against New Zealand. It was a real treat for the boys to get autographs and see how hard and well these professional players prepare for a match. The boys played tenpin bowling in the afternoon at the Menlyn Mall, and after supper at the Spur, it was off to bed.
We arrived back safely at about 17:00 on Monday 5 October. Thank you to the College for allowing us to go on the trip, to Mandla Manana for driving us safely, and to Mrs. Wickham for making all the arrangements and for ‘mothering’ us. Although we found the cricket quite tough, it will stand us in good stead for our season to come.
U11 Cricket boys and Mr. Geringer.
