THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: He who thinks education is costly ought to try ignorance.
IMPORTANT MEETING – COUNCIL REPORT BACK
All Felixton College parents are invited to attend a Council report back meeting to be held on Thursday 17 September 2009 at 19:00 in the College Hall.

The agenda will include a presentation of the financial state of the College, the proposed Fee Structure for 2010 and the short, medium and long term plans for the College.

This is a critical meeting in the history of the College and all parents are encouraged to make every effort to attend.

Sew Cute! The Grade 4 learners now know how to sew a button on (thanks to Mrs Cameron) and so moms will not need to replace missing buttons anymore!!!!!!

TEXT BOOKS
Further to correspondence regarding textbook supplies for 2010, we advise that these will only be available from Kenart from October 2009.
MEDICINE DISTRIBUTION
We remind parents that, with immediate effect, scheduled medicines will not be dispensed from the College Reception if learners are unwell.  This includes Paracetamol tablets and syrup.  No medicine will be given unless you have sent medicine to the College, with specific instructions on dosage.
ROOTS GOLF DAY
The Roots Golf  Day was held on Saturday in glorious weather at the Felixton Country Club. Sincere thanks to Guy and Di Richardson for organising this event, which was well supported and a whole lot of fun (for children and their parents). Thank you to our parents and teachers who also gave up watching the Springboks beat the All Blacks, to support Roots.

Barry and Brian Lane came 1st, Harm Steenkamp and J.P. Fourie came 2nd and Mark Neumann and Matthew Lane came 3rd.

Roots teachers, Glenyce King, Jill Lawrie and Jo Baxter pose with Di and Guy Richardson at the successful Roots Golf  Day on Saturday.

Generous Grade 5's
The Grade 5 entrepreneurs generously donated R283.30 (a portion of the profit from their Market Day) to the Empangeni S.P.C.A.
We received a lovely letter of thanks from Cheryl Whittaker, Manageress of the S.P.C.A. who informed us that the money is being used to buy special food for "Fairy", a little female Pom-cross who was recently dropped off at their kennels as a stray dog.
