3 EXCEL AT ROTARY 'TEAM TALK'
3 High School learners, Phenyo Nkola, Ignus van Zyl and David Raphael, spoke their way into runner-up position at the annual Rotary "Team Talk" competition in Richards Bay last week. Their topic was "Religion is the single greatest cause of War". The boys travel to Durban this week where they will compete in the KZN "Team Talk" semi-finals. Good luck - we are rooting for you!

Pre-Registration: Friday 26 March 10:30 – 12:00 Felixton College Sports Office Saturday 27 March 09:00 – 13:00 Zululand Cycles, Richards Bay and Felixton College at the Dickson Oval.
Late registrations will be open from 06:00 – 07:45 on Sunday 28 March, before the start. Unfortunately late registration will attract a penalty of R20-00 for participants in the 25km and 50km events. Entrants for the 25km and 50km events will receive a goodie bag, and the first 400 entries regardless of category will receive a free t-shirt. Entry fees are: 5km R30, 12km R40.00 25km R70.00 and 50km R90.00
JUNIOR SCHOOL SPORT RESULTS
U7A at Veldenvlei Sport Complex – 27 February Felixton 2 runs vs RBPS 12 runs. Excellent bowling by Mohomed Taqvi and Trivan Pillay. Felixton 12 runs vs Hluhluwe 5 runs. Great game – lots of fun!
Cricket vs Richards Bay Primary School
Junior Open Boys Felixton College batted first and scored 83/5 in 20 overs. Top batsman was Jordan Graven 44 not out. Richards Bay Primary replied with 66. Top bowler was Sheldon Getkate (4 for 7). Felixton College won by 17 runs.
Felixton College batted very well on a difficult wicket. Jordan’s 44 not out was a match winning effort. Our bowlers never allowed the opposition into the game and Sheldon’s 4 for 7 was outstanding. Well done boys, on a very good season!
U11 A Richards Bay Primary batted first and scored 89/1 in 15 overs. Top batsman was Abdullah Mohammed (53 not out). Felixton replied with 90/2 in 14 overs, winning the match by 8 wickets. An excellent 53 not out by Abdullah won the match, played on a good pitch and a very quick outfield.
U9 Boys Felixton scored 35 for 8 wickets, and RBPS 33 for 2 wickets. RBPS won the match.
U7 Boys Felixton College scored 16 runs to RBPS 13 runs. Tershen Pillay bowled 2 wickets. Excellent play by all the boys!
U9 Cricket Festival @ Sagewood 6/03/10 U9A Boys vs Gratton won by 26 runs. Top batsman Gordon Leslie 11 runs. Top bowler Reece Williamson vs Grantleigh lost by 2 runs. Top batsman Basil van der Spuy. Top bowler Reece Williamson Excellent fielding and catches from both teams U9B Boys vs Sagewood Girls won by 29 runs. Top batsman Niel van Schalkwyk 11 runs vs Gratton Boys won by 13 runs. Top batsman Shiven Govender. An excellent catch was taken by Niel van Schalkwyk U9A Girls vs Gratton Girls won by 9 runs Top batter Bella Loosemore 5 runs. Top bowler Courtney Getkate 2/1 vs Sagewood Girls won by 4 runs Top batter Sthabi Zulu 4 runs. Top bowler Courtney Getkate 1/0 Many thanks to all the parents and grandparents who supported the youngsters on Saturday. Your enthusiasm and support is greatly appreciated and our learners are privileged to have such wonderful encouragement. Thank you, to the parents who patiently assisted with correcting stances, grips etc. not only for our own children but also for the other teams. Your example of sportsmanship is greatly valued. Congratulations: The following u13 girls have been selected to represent the Empangeni and South Zones at the upcoming cricket trials on the 19th March: Hannah Bevis, Kelly Motzouris, Kirsty Motzouris and Sthelo Kubheka. Good luck, girls. Winter Sport The Winter Sport programme began last week and the transition into the new codes went smoothly. A reminder that each child who plays hockey needs his/her own hockey stick and ball which they need to bring to each practice. The U11 and U13 boys and girls will train on the new fields. You are welcome to collect them from the field at 14h20.
