Dear Parents
Eisteddfod 2010
Felixton College Primary School will continue to support the eisteddfod in 2010. We believe it is a good platform for our learners to perform their talents. Each class will perform a choral verse, choir items may be presented and we will submit individual visual art pieces done in class. Children will be transported to the different venues to perform those items involving the entire class or choir.
However, all individual pieces and small groups will be given time off school to perform but practices and transport will be the responsibility of parents. It is very time consuming and disruptive when teachers are responsible for sourcing, practising and arranging transport for individual items, often at the expense of the children who have chosen not to participate.
We will endeavour to keep you informed of closing dates and performance dates via the newsletter and web page.
Grade 4 – 7 ‘Meet-the-Teachers’ – Thursday 28 January 201
‘Meet-the-Teachers’ on Thursday afternoon from 14:30 – 16:00 will begin in the Hall with a brief address by Mr. Krige, followed by some housekeeping issues from Mrs. Krige. Parents will then have the opportunity to go to their child’s classroom where the class teacher will advise them on her expectations for the year, class routines and answer any general questions that parents may have.
We request all parents attend, not just new parents, as it is an opportunity for new ideas to be addressed as well as plans for the year to be unfolded. The renovated computer centre with 25 new flat screen machines will be open for your interest.
Grade 4 – 7 teachers look forward to meeting you all on Thursday afternoon.

Clive Hyde, (Grade 10), has been selected as part of a KZN Pony Club Team to ride and tour Ireland from the 25th June until 12th July 2010. The KZN Pony Club has selected 8 riders from all over KZN and Clive is the only rider from the Zululand Pony Club to be selected. He will not be able to take his horse with him so he will be loaned a horse in Ireland, which makes competing a whole lot more difficult as he will only be given 3 days before the 1st event takes place to get to know the horse on which he will be competing. Well done, Clive, this is a huge achievement.
