Arts and Culture

Print
Felixton Primary School adopts a new approach to Arts and Culture this year and splits this Learning Area up into 3 different subects, namely Drama, Visual Art and Music.  We will also put on a school production this year and are looking to improve our cultural programme.

We are taking a different approach to this Learning Area (in Grades 4 to 7), dividing it up into 3 subjects, namely Drama, Visual Art and Music. Music is taught by a specialist music teacher and Drama is taught by the individual English teachers. Visual Art in Grade 4 and 5 is taught by a class teacher, but Grade 6 and 7 have the benefit of the High School Visual Art teacher.

Choir is offered every week and we are looking to expand our cultural programme. Currently chess and scrabble are offered every afternoon under the supervision of the homework centre teacher. Every child does pottery with a specialist pottery teacher once each term.

The Senior Primary will be putting on a school production, involving every child in this phase, at the end of July / beginning of August 2009.
