Hockey

Print
Probably our strongest sports code at Felixton College is our Boys hockey with our boys dominating representation in the Northen Coastal sides.

Girls hockey at the College is also strong, with our Under 16 team winning 8 of their 9 fixtures in 2009. We look forward to this "Dream Team" peaking as a First X1 in 2013!

We welcomed the availability of the two new fields, enabling Felixton College to host a lot more games and providing us with a greater practice area.

Hockey is encouraged from an early age and it is common to see little Junior Primary learners playing their hearts out in matches and festivals. A popular fixture is the Peter Terry-Lloyd Day at Grantleigh, where our U9 rugby and U9 Girls' hockey teams get to shine. The U11 and U13 Girls travel to Thomas More in the 2nd Term to play in the KICCSSA Festival. The Junior 1st Boys' and Girls' teams undertake a tour every year and this is a great opportunity for the players to compete against strong opposition, build their team and socialise with each other as well.

High School hockey is dominated by the St Catherine's Hockey Festival, the Trevor Smith Hockey Festival (hosted by Felixton College) and fixtures against Wembley College, Creston College and Grantleigh.
